  • James Parkinson, an English physician, publishes An Essay on the Shaking Palsy which discusses the disease that would later be named after him, Parkinson's disease.[1]


  • December 13 - Arthur Hill Hassall - British physician. Hassall, along with German chemist, Friedrich Accum, were the first to fight the intentional reduction of food and drug quality, known as the adulteration of food which can cause severe illness and disability.[1]
