Births

  • February 1 - Granville Stanley Hall - Psychologist and educator, founder of the American Journal of Psychology and Pedagogical Seminary, later titled the Journal of Genetic Psychology. He also served as the first president of the American Psychology Association (APA).[1]
  • November 9 - Henry Syle - American priest. Syle was the first ordained deaf priest in the Episcopal Church in the United States.[2]
