  • April 13 - Byron Benton Burnes - American teacher and deaf advocate. 16th President of the National Association of the Deaf from 1946 to 1964, the longest presidential tenure so far. Teacher at the California School for the Deaf.[1]


Deaths

  • May 26 - Georges Gilles de la Tourette - French neurologist, first to describe the "maladie des tics", or "Tourette's Syndrome".
