  • September 6 - Wilson Greatbatch, inventor of the implantable cardiac pacemaker, is born. His device has led to heart patient survival rates comparable to that of a healthy population of similar age. [1] [2]


Deaths

  • February 26 - Joseph Jules Dejerine - French neurologist. Famous for his study of neurological conditions. Married to Agusta Klumpke.[3]
