  • May 18 - Gerda Boyesen - Norwegian psychotherapist. Boyesen was the founder of Biodynamic Psychology.


Deaths

  • August 2 - Alexander Graham Bell - known as the "father of the deaf". Bell was famous for inventing the telephone as well as for teaching the deaf and deaf-mute to communicate using Visible Speech, a method that his father, Alexander Melville Bell devised.
