  • July 8 - Harriet McBryde Johnson - American disability advocate. Johnson was disabled due to a neuromuscular disease. She is also the author of Too Late to Die Youngand Accidents of Nature.
  • October 3 - Diane Finley - Canadian politician. Finley is the Canadian Minister of Citizenship and Immigration. Finley currently has Graves' disease.


Deaths

  • December 2 - Manfred Sakel - Austrian Psychiatrist. Sakel pioneered the use of insulin shock therapy for people with schizophrenia and other mental health patients.[1]
