Births

  • 1938 - Dave Balon - Canadian Hockey Player. Balon played for the New York Rangers and the Montreal Canadiens winning two Stanley Cups with the Canadiens. He had Multiple sclerosis for 30 years of his life.[1]


Deaths

  • 1922 - Alexander Graham Bell - known as the "father of the deaf". Bell was famous for inventing the telephone as well as for teaching the deaf and deaf-mute to communicate using Visible Speech, a method that his father, Alexander Melville Bell devised.
