- 1863 - Mr. and Mrs. "General Tom Thumb", two American dwarf showbiz performers, are married. Charles Stratton, whose alias in show business arose from the great P.T. Barnum, and Mercy Lavinia Warren Bump were married at Grace Church in New York.[1]

- 1923 - Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen - German physicist. Röntgen was the first to (accidentally) discover X-Rays.[2]
