  • 1931 - Guilly d'Herbemont, with the assistance of one of the editors of l'Echo de Paris launched national white stick movement in France. The "white stick" movement was created to provide all people who are blind with a white stick as a means of identification.[1]


Sports & Recreation

  • 2001 - Rachael Scdoris, a 15-year-old legally blind dog sled racer, becomes the youngest athlete to complete a 500 mile dog sled race at the International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.[2]
