- 1907 - Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906 comes into effect leading the the beginnings of the modern era of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.[1]
- 1907 - Harvey Washington Wiley, an American chemist and staunch advocate of the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906 becomes the first commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.[2]
