Job accommodation

From ATWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Modifications or adjustments to a job description, the environment, job context, or job tasks that enables a qualified person with a disability to enjoy equal access to employment. Accommodations provide people with disabilities opportunities to attain the same level of performance and to enjoy the same benefits and privileges as are available to similarly-qualified able bodied employees.

Job Accommodations may consist of assistive technology, modifications to workplace policies, changes to the job description, reassigning non-essential job tasks, or altering the context in which work is preformed. An example of changing the work context would be to let someone work from home.
