  • 1883 - The first formal psychology research laboratory in the United States was founded. Johns Hopkins University allocated $250 for space and equipment to Granville Stanley Hall.

  • 1884 - Anthony Lanza - American physician who discovered Silicosis, also known as Grinder's disease and Potter's rot, a occupational lung disease caused by inhalation of crystalline silica dust.[1]
