  • 2006 - The Gallaudet University Board of Trustees appoints Dr. Jane Fernandes as president designate causing a surge of protest from students.[1]


Births

  • 1861 - Douglas Tilden - Deaf sculptor. Tilden was a world-famous artist and activist in the Deaf community. He served as a Vice President of the World Federation of the Deaf and the President of the California Association of the Deaf.[2]
