  • 1911 - In United States vs. Johnson, 221 U.S. 488 (1911), The U.S. Supreme Court rules that the Food and Drugs Act of 1906 does not cover statements of curative or therapeutic effect even if the statements are misleading.[1] A 1912 amendment later covered these statements.


Births

  • 1980 - Casey Tibbs - Track and Field Athlete. Tibbs is a double-amputee and Paralympic Gold Metalist and the first active-duty military member to compete in a Paralympic Games.[2]
  • 1986 - Dylan Postl - American professional wrestler. Postl is known as Hornswoggle or Little Bastard as part of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).[3]


Deaths

  • 2007 - Dave Balon - Canadian Hockey Player. Balon played for the New York Rangers and the Montreal Canadiens winning two Stanley Cups with the Canadiens. He had Multiple sclerosis for 30 years of his life.[4]
