One-Handed Jig for Packaging Worker

Situation

A worker in a packaging facility needs to place transmission fluid change kit parts into boxes for sale at auto parts stores. The employee does not have use of her left hand or arm. She is having difficulty holding the boxes while loading them. The boxes also tend to collapse into the flattened position during loading.


Accommodation

A jig was designed to hold the boxes in the open during the loading process.


Cost Analysis

The material needed for this accommodation was square foot of 1/8" thick ABS plastic. Fabrication time was less than one hour.
