Deaths

  • 1960 - Melanie Klein - Austrian-born British psychoanalyst. Klein was the first person to use traditional psychoanalysis with young children.[1]
  • 1970 - Alice Hamilton dies at the age of 101. She was a pioneer in the field of Occupational health, who specialized in toxicology and the dangerous effects of industrial metals and chemical compounds on the human body (e.g., lead used in the manufacture of paints). Her research lead to some of the first workers' compensation laws. [2]
